hey all.
i'm Rob. a soon to be 20 year old with a passion for mud, dirt, rocks, and water. so my current toy is a 87 b2 4x4. its had a hard life since i bought it a few years back. but now she has a fresh 2.9 bored 20 over and a mild cam to give her a sound that turns heads almost as much as everything else on it. i think alot of you will like seeing what i have done with it because it all came from my head without the help of this site or others. (yes even the chopped top i thought of)... but now that i'm on this site my truck will get better very rapidly. alot of good ideas i have noticed already.
so my b2 has some half doors that my dad and i made from a set of stock doors for a ranger. we just hacked them with my handy saws-all. and even left the door handles and locking stuff just to keep things simple. then we took off the sway bars. added some 30x9.5x15s on her. and drove her for a week before we started the choptop. we added a piece of metal strap to the window frame area, just to add a little support and to clean up the hole we had there. then fit a ranger tailgate on it. and had a 4pt roll bar added for safety, of course we had it built so i could fit my 400ex quad in the back! then we found a abandoned mk3 toyota supra in the desert, so i got a new seat of bucket seats! then we used that saws-all and hacked the fenders out a bit. and added a piece of angle iron to them with a lip facing out. where we drilled some holes, and added 1/3 of a length of reinforced clear 1" tubing. makes for a great fender and keeps the water off the truck amazingly well. we then took the airbox and flipped it. cut a hole in the hood and added a piece of dryer duct for a homemade snorkel.. (i already saw that i'm not the only one doing this
..... then i painted it myself. with platinum silver. and a candy apple red with a silver flake in it. i used some a thin metal sheet with some 3/8" holes (i think) in it. like a grill mesh. and made a cover for the stock front grill. got the idea from a 69ish rs/ss camaro with the grill that flipped back from the headlights... i think thats it that i can think of for now. cept the old skool oooouuugaaaa horn i wired in for giggles. i'll try to add pictures tonite!
