Ok so like the beginning o fdecember my transmission was making some noise and i stopped driving it to figure out what is wrong. I put it in the garage and got the transmission out about mid winter break and found a few broken teeth on the input shaft gear.(no nothing else was damaged). I went around and priced shops to do the work... $900!!!!! either way! new one or rebuild this one! Well I just decided to do it myself and find a trans from another ranger to put in it. Well first i had a friend with a bronco 2 that had a transmission but it was a mitsubishi fm blah! then just this weekend i found one with an engine for 450$ and so we drove up there and picked it up and the guy with his is putting in a v8 so yeah...(my parents talked me out of a v8
) but he was nice and was really helpful the trans and engine are in good condition and so i got home and took it to school today and took it apart in class and cleaned it up but that was kinda sucky cuz i ran out of time to get anywhere on the engine. So tonight I got the transmissions together and took the parts down to swap them around... guess what.
Thay are not the same
! The Input shaft and the Output shaft is completely different from mine and so i was like @&^%$(^#@!*($%)(@!#*&$%_@#(*%^)@#(%^(!@#^%#@(&^%)(@^%. Not anyones fault cuz it looked like the transmission had never been pulled so the previous owner might not know
. But the one thing I actually needed THE INPUT SHAFT GEAR isn't the same so I can't even swap it and get my truck back on the road. Now it sits till I can find the right part and fix mine or get the right transmission. Already been sitting for almost 2 months. I Want My Truck Back
.
Sorry for the Ranting.
