I finally got around to posting up on craigslist that I'm looking for a Ranger. So far I've only recieved one reply. I'm going to post my finds up on here to get feedback on them and keep track of them.
I'm looking for a 1993-1995 Xcab with the auto trans, V6, and 4x4. Believe it or not it is REALLY hard to find a 1993-95 4x4 with an auto.
The email I recieved tonight doesn't quite fit into my guidelines, but I may consider it anyway.
The owner states that it is a 1992 Ranger, regular cab with a long bed. 4x4, 5speed, and apparently 95k miles. I'm assuming it's 195k miles and his odo doesn't have the extra digit but we'll see. If anyone knows, did any Gen 2 trucks make it off the line with the extra digit odo? Just so I don't have to wait for his reply. And is there any other way to check? I know I can do a carfax and see mleage counts, but I don't have carfax.
It had a new transmission and rear end installed in 06, and the engine was rebuilt in 01. Both of those lead me to believe the 195k mile thing too.
Depending on his asking price the mileage wont hold me back, but we'll see.
By the way, if anyone sees what I'm looking for on craigslist or locally let me know! I usually keep track of Binghamton, Oneonta, and Scranton craigslist. There's several others in NY, PA, and NJ that I don't go throgh often which could potentially have my dream truck on it.
