Aint he beautiful? Inspiration if I've ever seen it. As long as this bird flies, there's some good ol' fashion USA in my heart.

Those are turkey vultures in the background. It's obvious who's a predator and who's a scavenger, LOL.

That's from about 150 ft. It was across the street from my house. He just sat there as cars came and went. He was about 3-4 ft standing erect. His wingspan was over 6ft. And the vultures never once tried to eat while he sat there.

News flash...Bald eagles are also carrion eaters just like the turkey vultures, so it didn't necessarily kill whatever they're eating. The bald eagle recovery program here in Mass routinely leaves road kill deer out on the ice at Quabbin Reservoir for the eagles in winter, so they keep year-round presence and keep nesting.

Nice of you to get a shot like that though, the eagles are SO MUCH better-looking than vultures. ;)

I have about 300 of them all around me everyday. We have one that thinks its part of the crew and will sit literally feet from us up on the steel and watch us work, I guess growing up with them its biz as usual.

great picture! Scientists have been amazed by the fact that eagles (having always been predetors) have started snacking on carrion. They have studied the migration of eagles through-out history, & have concluded that eventually eagles will gather in the nation of Israel from around the world. I looked up eagle in a Bible & found many references to that bird, but one in particular: (paraphrased) all the birds of the air will be summoned to Israel and devour the bodies of those who die in the battle of Armageddon.....

Edit: Lima Bean....send us a couple pics next time some of them gather
