ok so i got an 86 ranger a few days back and its not really road ready... when i came out yesterday (no battery in( in garage charging)) the gauge read dead center.... my question is can i replace only that gauge or is all as one?

and can slow gauges be solved with a can of 2 letters and a number?(wd-40)

an ammeter should be in the middle with no current flowing..... are you sure you have an ammeter?

wd-40 won't help slow gauges

it says amp

then its fine. if it stays in the middle while the engine is running then yes there is a problem.

middle means no current is flowing. "D" means Discharging the battery and "C" means charging the battery

it should be in the middle with the key off

is there a way to test if the gauge still works (i have the cluster out right now(speedo cable was a b****) and just wondering....)
