As American trucks are quite scarce in South Africa, I have always longed for one. I own two 4.0l v6 South African Rangers and is a die hard Ford fan.
Came across an 95 Super Cab with a blown engine and decided to build the ultimate Ranger.

The Ranger when I bought it.

Looks like a great build, can't wait to see the details.
When I was very young, under school age, I spent a few years in Ghana. From what I remember, a well built truck like yours is a necessity once you get out of the cities.

damn fine job you did here:icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

347.....whew!....not sure i would want such a thirsty truck in range conditions. it has to be a blast literally running the roads there.

"ultimate" would have a 60 out front and killer turbodiesel in front of that saturn overdrive and 435/205 combo in my tiny little mind, but this thing is damn close to perfect.

I bought a 302 from a friend that according to him was freshly rebuild. The first plan was to keep the standard suspension with a mild lift. Get the 302 and an AOD installed.
Visiting this forum and seeing your nice trucks made me think again.
Decided to open up the 302 and see what its condition was. Found the honing marks still on the block. The stripped engine cried 347.
I ordered a n Eagle 347 kid modified the block and had the whole rotating assy balanced.
The 347 was topped off with a set of AFR heads and roller cam from Comp cams.

While on the subject of the 347, I will finish off its build. My goal was to reach 400hp and around 400 ft/lbs. Power and torque needed to turn those 35`s I planned to install.

Here is the tech list of the 347`s vitals.
1. AFR 142 72cc heads.
2. Comp roller cam
3. Crane roller rockers
4. Weiand Street Warrior intake
5. Holley 670 Truck Avenger
6. Mallory dissy
7. Edelbrock high flow water pump.
8. Professional Products stainless bolt kid.

Damn would I like a Dana 60 up front. But Dana`s are as scarce as hens teeth here in sunny SA. Very few 4x4`s with Dana`s was available round here. Mine is from a gutted F250 aka 1979. The last 4x4 with a Dana 60 front in SA is the 2006 F250 and they are impossible to find second hand.

Is that an anti-wrap link on a leaf sprung front suspension...?

Need specs and more pics of the suspension!!!

Oh BTW... Sweet ride! I like it! (flares are hideous)

I have opted for a leaf sprung suspension cause this Ranger is a fully imported
version from the States and was never manufactured over here. So all suspension stuff have to be imported.

Had a set of springs specially manufactured with 10" of lift.
Build anti-wrap links for the Dana 44 front and 60 rear.

That's sweet!
Front anti-wrap idea... Officially stolen, and added to my parts list for my Sploder SAS.

Truck looks sweet!!! Did one hell of a job on her, cant wait to see more.

I'm just wondering what the ranger over drive is on the np435 you said. I'm running the same trans as you but clueless as to what the over drive thing is.

Steering box from an Isuzu was mounted on the outside of the rail.
Had to cut the body under the battery box to make way.
