Ok im thinking of redoing my exhaust. Wondering if i will notice a difference.

Now
2in from cat back to muffer with a hole in it lol.
flowmaster 44 2 1/4 single in and out with a turn down right after for offroading reasons.

New
2.5 from cat back to the 44 and side exit.
OR possiable trading out the 44 for a 40 2.5 single in single out.

Is it going to sound any louder or better?? Any body got opinions i would like to hear them.

It will sound better because you get the sound out from under the truck, sound level will be similar between the 2.

Exhaust recommendation

"91rangerstx",

I recommend using the 2.25" from the cat to the muffler and 2.25" from the muffler out, the tail pipe can be larger and may even help develope positive exhaust velocity but unless you 2.9 l is all port/polish heads/intakes and headers, my experience has shown me that 2.25" muffler is correct.
