Am I crazy?

I have thought that I have seen a shadow in my home since we removed back into it (it burnt down last year and was rebuilt). I never thought of it much, but last last as I lay there trying to fall a sleep, I seen a shadow on the upper wall at ceiling level, a car went by and the headlights glare went through the room, but did nothing to this shadow. When I raised up from bed to try to get a closer look, it moved across the ceiling towards the bedroom door and was gone.

I was not half a sleep, still had my senses, but I feel as if though I am going crazy. I know the dark plays tricks on the mind, but this is not the first time I have caught a glimpse of this, there has been at least 2 or 3 times before.

Am I crazy??!!! Try to be serious, this really really bothers me now.

wow, Dude i honestly dont know what to think,
but i remember seeing shadows in my cabin were we live in the summer, i remember seeing one in the kitchen, about 5 foot, and i went out there and nothing was there..

The area of Calgary I live in was built on a Native burial ground, not that they've found hard evidence of this but they have found clues leading to this. On more then one occasion I thought I had seen a ghost or something, and nothing could explain it.

A few years ago I went out to go to the bathroom at about 2 or 3 in the morning. When I got to the bathroom, I Noticed the TV in the living room was on, no big deal, I thought someone couldn't sleep and went out to watch TV or something. Well, I finish my business and walk over to the living room to see whats going on, and to see whats on, when I got about 10 feet from the lazy-boy the TV flashes off (when our TV turns off the picture goes white and then goes down to a point in the center of the screen), and the rocking chair starts rocking, at this point, I thought it was my sister turning it off because she thought I was dad and caught her, I walked around and there was no one in the chair or the living room.

This one has happened to me more then once, but I'm in the can at night and a shadow moves across the wall and out the bathroom door and down the hallway. I know for absolute fact that it wasn't car lights or anything as the light would have had to of come from behind me, or to the side, and all thats there are solid walls with no windows.

If you were on the can, I'd want to get the heck outta there too! :fie:
Alright, seriously though: this little house I rent had an untimely death in it a few years before I moved in, I didn't know til a week after I moved in and one of the neighbors told me. That was after I had had a dream where I saw a shadow in the wall. Anyway, I just pray (don't laugh), and that seems to help.

"Only the shadow knows....."

My mother is a Lutheran minister. At their home (the parsonage) in Garnavillo, Iowa several years ago they kept having weird shit happening. And they would smell pipe tobacco, though neither of them smoke. They felt stupid thinking about it because they are so straight-laced people, but it became clear something supernatural was happening. My dad said he could feel someone in the room when noone was there, and smell that pipe, though there was no smoke. Finally he said he told whoever it was that he was scaring them and asked that they be left alone. And it stopped. It's the only time I've ever had anyone close to me tell about something like that, but it's impossible not to believe my parents. My dad is a Vietnam vet, was director of Veteran Affairs for his county and also worked for the county DNR. He gives speeches on Memorial Day and stuff. Very upstanding. My mom has long been an ordained minister and writes for devotional magazines and such. Really weird for them to have that experience.

I think quantam physics or something mathematically supports the existence of other dimensions or alternate universes. Einstein always said to let the math tell you what is true and experience should support it, rather than trying to apply the math to your experiences. That means it's likely there are other planes of existence and you shouldn't discount anything simply because you haven't experienced it.

There's a book called Ambiguous Adventure by Cheikh Hamidou Kane. It's about the struggle between our original superstitious/religious selves and our modern scientificly enlightended selves. He talks about losing your spiritual side as you gain your scientific side. For millions of years humans were forced to explain everything spiritually as we had no science. Now we have maybe oversteered and try to explain everything scientifically--all in the last thousand years. Just the thinnist point of our existence has been "enlightened", there is a huge dark thing in our past--scince is like shining a flashlight down a mile-deep well and seeing just a couple feet of the sides.

We have no idea what can exist. I would be very afraid if something were stalking me.

LOL, set up a recorder to see if you can't hear anything.

I know a few people who claim that their houses are haunted, but solid evidence is usually non-existant.

Only thing I've seen that was pretty weird was a face that persisted in my window the first year I lived in my house when I first moved in it. This was only in the winter time when it would fog up. Didn't see it this year.

My friend Dan DID get a picture of that, and it did scare the shit out of a lot of people. He broke his phone though and lost most of his data when they "transferred" the data over to his new phone. I've never heard of a cell phone place ever getting that right, maybe it's just something in the water here.

Other than that, I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary, but I also can sleep through a lot (apparently including earthquakes). I also talk in my sleep, probably more than usual. I've had all out conversions that I can't even recall ever having - I was in a dead sleep. LOL It's really embarrasing, I talk about some really off topic things at times (from what I've heard).

There are no mathematical constructs that support the kind of "alternate universes" you are mentioning. One can make independent "universes" within general relativity, but they are not required and have no causal connections to one another if they do exist. That means nothing in one universe can affect anything in another -- PERIOD. Quantum physics says nothing about "psychic connections" or any other New Age bullshit. Sometimes I wish Deepak Chopra would choke on his own vomit for making such statements. Karma should really nail him for that.

Einstein and ghosts have no relation to one another. Period. One only gets relations by reading and misunderstanding the words on a formal level. Schroedinger, likewise. Quantum tunnelling is calculated for baseballs by every physics graduate student. It doesn't happen in real life.

You can put whatever metaphysical BS you want on top of the physics, but it is NOT physics, and isn't reality either.

As for the original question, the mind can play tricks on you, especially when you are about to go to sleep (even when you still have your faculties). This is normal, not crazy.

Well that is just it, when the headlights glare went across this "Shadow", you could still see it. Our dog barks at nothing a lot, I think now I know what she is barking at. Sometimes she gets scared and will not go down the hallway. If in fact it is a ghost, it has not done any harm that I know of. I looked up this phenomenom, and some state that there is a thing called vitreous detachment that causes this as well, I don't get bright flashes, but that is not the only symptom. Guess I will pay more attention now.

Don't listen to MAKG. You are being stalked by a fiend form another world coming through a portal.

it's the evil alternate universe version of gordon freeman.

or maybe the stay-puft marshmallow man

The way I understand it is that some people are a lot more "sensitive" to super natural happenings than others. I know people who are sensitive to this and have had weird shit happen to them. Boxes coming off shelves, TV turning itself on and on etc. Strange shadows were the least of their problems. But I've gone into the same locations and never had anything happen, I just didn't feel it like they did. Maybe it's anxiety, dark playing tricks on your eyes, or quite possibly you're super naturally sensitive and this spirit knows that. I know its weird but most spirits have no desire to harm people, if anything they want help but have no way of communicating. One guy on here said that praying worked, if you're religious try that. The other one I've heard is that if this shadow becomes more frequent in certain locations then you can go to that location when no one else is home. Sit down and try to reason with this thing. Let it know that it is dead and no longer belongs in this world. I'm not a paranormal expert by any means, just relaying what I have heard from people with first hand experience. Good luck.
