I have an aluminum driveshaft out of a 98 4 banger, and need to know if it will hold up to the 3.0 v6. both trucks were automatic trans.

I have 310K on my stock '04 supercab with 3.0/manual. Driven hard, it survived the rear axle locking up from the spider gears shattering at 65mph.....

I installed an Explorer Limited aluminum driveshaft in my V8 Ranger. Holding up well so far.. Been a year now..

I'm not aware of any driveshaft differences based solely on engine size (even with the 4.0L V6).
The differences revolve around body style (Supercab, longbed, shortbed, etc), transmission & drive type, and if it's a Regular Cab, whether '97 & older, or '98 & newer.

The 3.0 has about 3 more hp than the 4 cylinder. I think you're gonna be ok...
