hi all,

i'm new here and have a 1990 ranger s 2.3l 5sp
and are looking for a more powerful alternator with out having to switch to a single wire unit.

any suggestions?

Your best bet would be to go to a single unit.

A buddy of mine got one from www.motorcityreman.com for $195 and it was a 185A 1 wire unit. We unplugged and removed the factory plug and then ran a 4AWG wire from the battery to the alternator.
