OK, here's what's up. The wiring coming off the alternator's battery post rubbed on the valve cover getting exposed and blew the fuseable link at the solenoid. I tried a 14 gauge from my store but it doesn't want to hold up. The OE is 12 gauge and of course a 94 harness is discontinued. I may try and get a few from the bone yard. Currently I have a inline fuse holder in but the largest fuse for it is 40 amps. I may try and find a MAX fuse inline holder that can get the job done.

Has anyone gone through this? If so what did you use to fix it?

Thanks for any help!!

why can't you get 12gauge fusible link and splice it in where the original was?

12 gauge are impossible to find. I soldered in the 14 gauge for now and it's holding. I'm on VACATION :yahoo: this week so I'm gonna head to the bone yard and cut out some fuseable links off what I can find there and keep em for future use now that our babies are getting long in the tooth and wiring harnesses have gone the way of the dodo.

I'll keep ya'll updated.

Hello
When I did my G3 alt upgrade on my stang I used welding ground cable with 100 amp inline fuse for high draw amps. Just an idea and it was cheap to do.
