Aloha,

been reading this site for a while thanks for everyone that has put thier input into it greatly appreciated....

k bought a project truck/ daily driver when i am able to finish it up

93 ranger king cab 4x4 4liter 5 speed think 4" lift

plan on doing the shaft swap too when i find 1

1.. rear end has been welded.. if i was off road all the time probably wouldnt care but i need this a s a daily driver too

limited to junk yards here in hawaii but what i have found

94 ranger dont think its 4x4

04 explorer look but havent read anything for the years that will fit everything says 95+ for disk brakes

i dont have any other info for the cars yet have to go look @ them when i get a chance..

mainly wanted to know if the 04 will fit in there or not

2....

front diff blew up on it too.. not to much info on this one that i found for swapping them out...
screws inside decided to all come out so i have a big hole in it

i know a 93-97 all should fit but are there any others out there that i can swap in there that will be better??

thanks again for any help

'93-'09 Ranger rearends are direct swaps for yours (both 2WD & 4X4, but make sure you get a 8.8" and not a 7.5").
For Explorers, you need to look for '91-'01 vehicles ('02+ have IRS) Some welding is needed on the Explorer axle to fit it in a Ranger if you weren't aware.

For the front axle, '90-'97 Rangers, '91-'94 Explorers, some '90 Bronco IIs.

Last, make sure whatever axles you do get have matching ratios, and try to avoid 3.27:1 ones, you don't want anything to do with those (well, unless you plan to regear them, then by all means go for it... Save the 3.73 & 4.10 ones for others)

Welcome to TRS

Thanks a million most all the info i needed.

for the explorer front end swap... i need to take the whole thing arms and all?? (wheel to wheel)

guy localy selling 4.56 gears for front n back for 100$ (new F&B)
little 4x4 when done and towing jet ski n maybe small boat..14-16 foot
otherwise daily driver to werk n back..
but i only have 31's think that would be a bit to much ????

more of a daily drive soon as i get the big bugs killed deal with the little guys later :)

doh project truck more then i needed right now but i like it lol

rear end and front drive... well need more then that alignment sucks nothing right on it

replaced all tie rods and ball joints.. now have to find camber adjustment for it one is
stock other is aftermarket so they wont do it had to tell the guy just do the toe
so i dont have to fight it so bad

thanks again for everyone that helps with info on here

4.56 gears would work with 31s, though it'll get a little "revvy" at speed on the freeway. You could swap to 33" tires and they'd then be perfect.

Taking the whole front axle complete would make swapping it easier, though you can also take just the parts you need too.
