Almost Complete

HAHAHA you guys are hilarious! :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl: :icon_rofl:
I'm not crippled, just slow and soon to draw some disability. Disabled and crippled is way different. I can loosen a bolt or 2 and clean up an axle housing.
Maybe Jim'll read this and add me a smiley with a cane! :dunno:
And today I'm thinking I'll pull off some fenders and cut em!

AC had to work today; towed RangerSVT into Clrksville for some exhaust work then a '97 F-150 ExtCab 4x4 to the shop to figure out all of the coolant pouring out of the bellhousing inspection cover. We're hoping it's an old ratty freeze plug. Enjoy the vid of the Tow truck at work. Yeah we know way past overloaded on HWY 79. It's truck and it's built to work!

I'm following in RangerSVT which was it's maiden voyage after exhaust work and yeah the speedo's off 5 mph, we were going 55 mph by the GPS.
It's AC's biggest towed, until I get retired in Alabama and then it's pullin the Tractor with cutter, hay rake or bailer. And who knows how many loads of hay!

nice drive....

now to get it done by the 11th of Dec.....

Got the front fenders off and the inner fenders cut and prepped. Measured from the shop floor to the bottom of the fender opening 42", With the 4" EB lift springs, I'll have plenty of room for those 37" IROKs for the TB run! Tomorrow is finish them up. Pressure wash the 44 and apply some POR15!
Also had a 6 week check up with sawbones about the hip replacement today, his words "if you can get in it, clutch it, have at it"!! :yahoo: :headbang::icon_hornsup: :icon_hornsup:

Attack!

Somehow my truck ran into a swam of SAWZALL!!! Got all the fenders cut and rubber fender flare put on. Also instead of leaving the bumper stock, it got sawzalled too on the ends to match the new fender line, took off about 3 - 3 1/2 inches on the fenders and way more than that on the bumper "wings"! :D I'll get a pic up tomorrow when it's light and I can take one.
Rolled a 37" IROK up next to it and no problem in the rear and in the front, but would probably have some rubbing in the front with some flex. Take care of that when the DANA44 goes in!

Clearance pics

The fender cutting and fender flares really opened up the fender wells! Pics also show how I cut the "wings" of the bumper to match the new fender line. Have massive clearance! This is what it looks like with 33x10.50x15s!

Definitely recommend this to anyone wanting cheap easy clearance!
The rear inner fender top support portion we originally cut, then I later went back with a cold chisel and hammer and knocked loose each one of the tack welds to clean it up. Going to clean it up in there then spray in some rubberized undercoating in all four fender wells. I'd love to POR15 all of them! But at $46.00 a quart I'm going to keep the POR15 to heavier metal parts!
The fender flare is from JC Whitney; Pacer rubber fender flare roll, cost I think was around $130. The roll is 150' and enough for 2 1/2 trucks. Find a buddy and split it! Used pop rivets to install. Time consuming to get nice, but worth the time! :icon_thumby:

Uh Jay, it's not a 150 ft roll, it's a 50 ft roll you old senile handicapped fart :thefinger:

I was wondering where you found such a good deal on that stuff....lol

Hey ya driveshaft flange swapper, ya know I got PTSD and MTBI! And I'm not handicapped! I'm a disabled Vet and Biker!! But it's your story I'll let ya tell it however ya want if it makes ya feel better. At least I got low range before engaging the TCASE! Oh wait I have full TCASE opposed to well whatever that thing is ya crammed under there!
I just looked on JC Whitney again and it's a 25'er. So maybe we did get that stuff from Summit, Hell if I remember. Seems like we got inventory coming out our ears till we need something then it's something we don't have. HMM I see a "better to have and not need than to need and not have" thing coming on here.
KyleM,
What ya think I'm passing all the secrets so you can beat me in ORTOTM? Honestly I was nominated before I wanted to be, with a photo where ya can't really tell how the thing sits. I mean honestly it could be sitting on street tires and look buried in a piss puddle. But sometimes some people won't listen! I wanted to wait till the 44 is in the front and it's on the 37s and either sitting up on top of something or climbing up over something! And Nice looking beast ya got there!

Done, yeah right, that never happens! Always another this or that!
Had a vibration in a U-joint, so tore that thing out. Had an earlier problem with some spring perches spinning the welds off and breaking the flange ears off. We won't talk about how that happened. :dunno: It had a explorer flange with a 1310 & 1330 joint. Well just my friggin luck the parts store didn't have one and I wasn't hitting everyone in town sOOOOO I ran over 3 counties to my parts stash at RangerSVTs to pick up my old driveshaft.
Back to the house 3 counties over (yeah I do this drive almost 3-5 times a week so SVT and I work together on whatever the current mess is going on).
Pull my old 3 piece driveshaft out of my buddies exploder, toss it up on the workbench, grab the needle nose to pull out the U-joint retainers, NADA SIP (it ain't happening)! Screwdriver, pry em out, nope ears popped off the retainer, pinging somewhere off a wall. Was able to finally get them pryed out in pieces. Grab a socket open up the bench vise, attempt to press it out, nope ain't happening, been in there since I was on my 1st deployment probably! Come to think of it that was a LONG time ago!!
So now it's soaking in PB Blaster (WD-40 is WAYYY overrated IMO) and RangerSVT is dropping off the torch and 2 MAP gas bottles on the way north! Tomorrow after the PB works, I'll throw some heat to it, while it's got some pressure in the vise, and see if it'll pop loose. If not, it's either find a machine shop with a press, go fight the battle on FT Campbell at the craft shop, or wait till T-Day and I'm in Alabama and use Dad's shop press to get it out. It's coming out, one way or another!! :icon_confused: :icon_thumby:

Hey, how bout you just get your butt on the road, drop off that heat source, and then go fix that half breed JEEP HEAP you're working on! Who in the world would want to contaminate Ford driveline by dumping them into a JEEP HEAP is beyond me, but to each his own I guess.
I did have a FJ-40 with an L-82 Vette motor one time, the ole Chevota/Toyolet!! I loved that thing till the tranny disentigrated!! So guess I can't say much! And everyone said back then it wouldn't work or fit, lasted 10 yrs!
Might want to take :icon_welder: with ya to stiffen up that LEE IOCOCKA Stimulus sponsored crap to hold up to that real drivetrain!!! :icon_hornsup:
