hey im thinking about upgrading to some different wheels for my truck, and i was wondering if the is too much difference weight wise between something like a soft 8 steel wheel, and a mt classic II rim. ill prolly be getting a set of 3o or 31's for it, no wider than 11"

thanks

well since you don't want a tire that is too big weight shouldnt be an issue. if it was say a 35 thats a lot more weight to get rolling. a lighter wheel would of helped. but with a 30 or 31 it really isnt necessary but could still possibly help mileage slightly

With the same 235/75-15 Dunlop Mud Rovers I noticed no difference going from the stock white steel rims and my aftermarket aluminum rims.

I'd like to know the weight difference too. I'll try to remember to weigh some stock steel rims next time I'm at the shop.

there is a big difference between my 16x7 steel wheels and my aluminum ones in the same size. hefting a steel one makes the aluminum wheel feel light as a feather. however, as i'm running E rated tires, they are still pretty darn heavy even on the aluminum wheels.
