I can tell your pissed off about VLC, and no I won't mention it again. Just being in the software industry it's hard to see how it could have killed your PC, if it was infact a legit copy of VLC, which I am beginning to doubt.

I would try WinAmp or WMP Classic, I bet they would work great on Win2000.

Yeah, It was a legit copy other stuff from the same site worked
but I'll admit I might have gotten something I didn't want included in it...

If I had downloaded it from say....cnet the results might have been
different but I'm not going to try it from ANY source now...

I already downloaded the newest edition of Winamp, but I don't want
to install it until I have physically disconnected atleast my H-drive

it didn't wreck my computer, just all the saved media files (mostly mp3's)
on all four hard drives and my WMP.
