Taken from my sister's FB. No damage otherwise.

Dec 23rd.....the big one is coming. This is but a tickle in the giants throat. We have them here once in awhile...just enough to make a couch vibrate a bit or rattle a window.

Flying mirrors! Good thing people & pets weren't in there when it happened.

I remember another member stating that mild quakes happen often in the Alaska area...

just wanted to keep track in a dedicated thread.......thanks for the update

Here's a link to the Alaska Earthquake Map.

We do get a lot of quakes here. You don't feel them most of them. That 5.8 a couple days ago was a pretty good roller though. It actually made me wonder if I should duck for cover, and that doesn't happen often. I was standing in my cubicle at work talking to my boss when everything started moving and rumbling (many times you can hear the quake before you feel it). We have pendant lights that hang down a couple feet from the ceiling and they were all swaying. The glass storefront walls around the building were all visibly warping and buckling. We always have a quick guessing game of how big it was afterwards, I was closest I heard this time with a guess of 5.6.

I'm confused, you can predict earthquakes almost a month in advance? Why aren't you a billionaire?
