Hello all, been a lurker for years just looking at various things Ranger related.

Life long Ford fan, and currently have a few trucks. ‘74 F100 (w/ F250 running gear), ‘97 F350 and a ‘13 F350.

We recently picked up a ‘99 Ranger to be a first vehicle for our son. The body is decent, but the gamble is not paying off yet. Some issues I knew about, some I was hopeful about and others are rearing their ugly head.

I have a new thread in the 3.0 section, for any that may have insight.

Thanks for a great site with tons of knowledgeable members.

Funny thing about intros, on the H.A.M.B. (hokey ass message board - https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/) they would about skin a new guy alive for posting a question first before an intro, over on FTE (ford-trucks.com) they beg for pictures (or at least in the 48-56 crowd) and demand a new thread for every issue...

We like to ask a guy/gal for pictures of their ride if they do an intro... so lets see it!

This is when we brought it home in May of 2024.

I’m glad this site is full of helpful members and I was not flamed 😁.

In this picture, it has the 31x10.50R15’s that we pulled off and put on 265/75R16’s.

Nice body. Mechanical stuff is much easier to fix.

I’m sure it’ll all work out in the wash. This is to be a first vehicle for my son and I’m sure it will suffice.
He already thinks we should have just coyote, or diesel swapped it… LOL

I agree, which is why I purchased it to begin with.

All the mechanical stuff will come around in time, I was just hoping would not have been as much of an investment / project to begin with and we could have worked on it more over time as he drove it.

Agree with others...nice looking Ranger. I do like the 31s though.
Welcome to TRS.

Now I'm off to see what's up with the three-OH!
