I am in the market for a new set of wheels and I have decided on the Crager Soft 8's. What I'm not sure about though is size. I know I want a 15in rim but not sure on width. I currently have a set of 31x10.5 BFG's and I air down a lot.

My main question is will it be better to air down on the 15x7's or the 15x8's?

How low do you air down?

thats not really a lot. some people air down to 8 lbs. i would say 8" rim will be fine for airing down. it could also give you a little more aggressive stance

I air down to 1 psi often on 10" wide wheels. :icon_rofl:
Beadlocks help...

Go 15x8, gives you room to go up to a 12.50 wide tire in the future.

I'm a scardy cat and haven't taken them lower than 15 yet. I've only had them for 2 months.

you can pretty much drop down to 0 if you have bead locks. we run a set on my cj5. 35x12.5 on 8" rims. 4 lbs is a good amount.

you can definitely go down to like 8-10. you won't start noticing a great amount of improvement utill you start sitting single digits.

as for back spacing i would say 3.75. the wider stance will make it more stable in tricky situations.

I run Interco 37's on the Jeep and go down to 8 psi with no bead locks. Be careful as you can spin a tire off a rim in no time or burp the air out! GREAT traction though, so well worth the time to air them back up to 55 PSI when back on road. I went with 17 inch rims as it is way easier to find "bigger" tires in the larger size rims. I had a hard time finding 15X37 tires at a reasonable price.....

Ok, so I ordered the 15x8 with 4" BS. Will post pics after installed. Thanks for the help.

FWIW,I air down to 10psi in the frt and 8 in the rear with 31x10.5 on a 15x8 wheel and havent had any peeling....yet. Although, the LT's on there don't have much sidewall bulge/flex to them...
