Hello. I have a 2006 ranger sport with a 3.0. I want to know if the stock airboxes from a 2.3, 3.0 and 4.0 are interchangeable? I put a cold air intake on and recycled my stock airbox(dumb move) and I want to put a stock one back on. my truck has not been good ever since the cold air intake!

What kind of Air intake do you have in it? If it's a K&N, throw it away, and get a Spectre or AEM cone filter. They work way better. My 94 has a K&N and works good, but with 02+ rangers, they suck.

I have a Spectre drop in with a modified mass air flow housing on my 3.0 and it made a difference

It's an Airaid cold air. ever since I installed it the check engine light has been on. says lean codes. checked for any vacume leaks and everything is good. people have told me to put the stock air box back on. I just don't have it anymore!

Should be easy enough to find one at the junkyard.

that's why I'm trying to find out if any of the air boxes will work or if it HAS to be a 3.0! I am checking junk yards

You wanna swap for my stock '07 3.0 box?

In my owner's manual for my '08 says all three engines take the same filter, so it should be the same for your '06.
