2002 Ranger. Airbag light is on and flashing Code 27. However, it stops when I deactivate the passenger airbag (by using the key to turn it OFF). The light also lights up fine when the keyswitch is in the OFF position.

So, I doubt it's the bulb... whole switch faulty? Control module faulty?

Anyone know the part number for the switch module?

Get the airbag code from the dealer. That will tell more about the fault. I believe the code 26 is indicator light, I don't know what code 27 is.
It seems that the code is indicating something with the passenger airbag system.

Code 27 is the passenger airbag disable switch. It's widely documented.

Usually it's the indicator light being burned out from what I'm reading and is an easy fix. However, my indicator still lights and the airbag code light doesn't light when the passenger bag is disabled (with the keyswitch), the OFF indicator light lights.

Just wanted to see if anyone knows if this still might be the light or if I should look into replacing the switch.
