I dropped the trans to replace the clutch. New slave while it was apart. Couldn't seem to get any clutch pedal. Took the master out and bench bled it. No air bubbles in the reservoir and the rod couldn't be pushed in. Still too much air. Dropped the trans and replaced the slave again. I'm still getting to much air. I hook a hose up to the bleeder valve and put it into a jar. If I hold up the bleeder hose connection, loosening the bleeder valve further, I get lots and lots of air bubbles in the jar. Is it possible that I'm opening the bleeder too much and the air is coming from around the bleeder valve? I've gone through 3 big bottles of brake fluid. When will the air stop?

don't loosen the bleeder too much cause yes it can suck air in from there. i usually remove the bleeder and coat it in grease or something to prevent that.

i recommend trying to remove the master cyl and line again and straighten out the line so any trapped air can leave through the reservior. then keep trying to gravity bleed it.

if you disconnect the line from the slave and can push the clutch pedal down there is air in the line. if its rock solid then the air is trapped in the slave cyl
