does anyone know what i can use to make a custom lid for my 88 ford ranger i have a lid on it now and a custom intake but it is all hacked up and i have electrical tape covering all the hacked up part so it seals around my tube. just wanting to know if i can make a custom lid to seal my air filter so it looks alot better. Heres a pic of just the intake without the box.

Is that the original airbox... lower part, anyway? Is it still connected to the front by the rectangular tube? Is everything else associated with the airbox still connected? I have my cone filter connected to the stock tube just resting on the wheel well, not using the original airbox at all. How are you at fabrication?

yes it is the factory lower part and i have the air tube that comes from the grille still attached to it but i want to seal it from all of the engine heat in the engine bay any way im decent at it and i got a sheet of plexiglass today do you think that will hold up to the engine compartment heat?

Don't know... never really dealt with plexiglass before. Try it out, ya never know. I don't think that the compartment would get hot enough to melt it but you never know. Heat it up and see how hot you can get it before it melts nd then judge by that. Or ask a knowledgeable person of plexiglass what it's melting point is. Trial and error my friend!
