Air Filter Mud Problem

Hey folks, I am having trouble with my air filter getting covered in mud everytime I go play around. ( Go figure right? ) Is there anyway to prevent this, besides a snorkel? Or will I just have to deal with it? And a question about snorkels, do they reduce your power or fuel economy, because this truck is also a daily driver. Thanks

Nope. But they also do not add power either.

My buddy came up with an idea to solve the problem, use 2 different air filters for the truck, one for muddin', one for daily driving ( a clean one ). I dont go offroad too often and changing it takes about 30 seconds so its no big deal.
