So I replaced the 60/40 bench seat and put in some bucket seats and now I find out there is such a thing as a seat belt pretensioner on the old seats. The plug under the seats is not a special color as most air bag equipment has. So now I get a code 46 which I am told means the drivers side pretensioner is inop. How can I by pass or trick the computer to think all is well. I still have the old seats, should I just pull the pretensioners off and plug them in and throw them under the seats?

What bucket seats did you use? Almost everything made since the early 90s should have pre-tensioners. They are an important safety feature that are designed to work in conjunction with the airbags and you should not just ignore or bypass them.

Be glad the light is on and feel safer with the explosive bags designed to punch you in the face disabled.

These seats were from a 2004 pt cruiser, the seats had no electrical connection going to them at all. I removed them my self.. the seats do have the female side of the seat belt attached. I'll figure out something. Thanks for looking.

So after searching for answers to put out the air bag light I finally had to remove the trigger units from each of the original seats and plugged them in and shoved them under the carpe4t beneath the seats. Lights off, all is well.
