i had some trouble installing aftermarket t-bar keys. i found if you drop the front shock and let the suspension drop down farther it allows you to compress the key far enough to insert the block. i trouble with the puller pushing at an odd angle and forcing the key slightly off center. also as you compress the key sliding a punch through the block slot adds a little safety from the puller slipping off and the key flying down.

These keys are just a way to separate you from your money.

The stock keys, in MOST situations, will provide ample thread to crank up the torsion bars. These keys do NOTHING besides increase the max cranking ability of the torsion bars, which beyond 1.5-2" will destroy your front end.

IF you cannot crank up the bars due to lack of thread on the adjuster bolt, get NEW torsion bars, do not waste your money on these keys. Higher rated torsion bars will ride ten times better cranked than maxed out lower rated bars.

After 1.5-2", the control arms are at an angle that stresses the ball joints and tie rods. Think about it this way, if you could get 3" safely JUST from these keys and cranking the torsion bars, why would SuperLift offer a 3-4" kit for 4x4 torsion bar Rangers? It's because new bracketry is required to acceptable maintain steering geometry where the joints aren't maxed out. Additionally, new knuckles are needed to make up the difference from lowering the lower control arm away from the front subframe.
