When I did my 87 BII 4X4 5.0 AOD swap I went with a set of 96 Xplorer cast iron exhaust manifolds. I now have a set of BII/Ranger V8 swap headers I can use but don't really want to go through the hassle of pulling the motor again.

Have any of you installed headers after you completed your swap without pulling the motor to install them?

Thanks!

On my 99 i don't think I could even get the GT40P headers out with the engine installed. Some of the bolts were a nightmare to install with the engine on a stand. Not sure how similar your 87 is in that regard though.

I am currently finishing my swap, '88 Ranger 363....using James Duff V8 swap long tube headers....they were a PITA to install with engine in but got them done. Now theyre leaking slightly above the header flange. May need to double up gaskets. I coated them inside and out also.

Thanks for the replies!
