I have a 2008 Ranger 2300cc that I am trying to install an aftermarket cruise (Audiovox Vaccuum assist) The directions only go up to 1995. I have been able to attach everything except the senser wire that goes to the tach wire on the truck. The most up todate diagrams show this wire to be tan and yellow but I have been unable to find a tan and yellow wire any where under the hood or the fuse panel on the passenger side.
You can also hook this wire up to the negative side of the ignition but the new ranger does not have one wire for this.
I am stumped as to where to hook it up.......:icon_confused:

The info I have is for the 2007 Ranger, I dont know if they are the same. The VSS wire is located at the PCM, center plug position 1. The wire should be a Purple/Red.

Under Tach my info states that for standard trans use clutch switch 250-4206

If for some reason you need a tack signal you can get it at the PCM (doesnt list which plug) any way it should be in pin 12 and 17, the colors should be White or Blue.

Dont assume that 07 and 08 are the same, test these wires first. (if these wires are right for 08 let me know)

And vaccuum cruise bad idea, it kinda like replacing your CD player with an 8-track player.

aftermarket curise

O8 Ranger has the PCM split up into three blocks that go through the left hand side of the firewall. It appears that the color codes have been changed. The mechanic at our local Ford gave me a printout of the new wire diagram for speed senser and it the oss (outboard speed senser) which can be easily found coming out of the top of the transmition.
I hadn't realised at the time that he hadn't given me any idea where to hook up the tach wire. I will check on the blue or white wire on the 08
