Aerostar 4X4

Its the one with like 6 wires. Ive forgotten which wires to jump, but when I first did mine I started jumping wires together one by one until it started. I can look in the shed for my old auto harness and see what two wires need to be jumped if you cant find them. But if I remember correctly they were the two biggest wires in the set and they were like red/pink stripe and red/with blue stripe?

I've got the wires going to the tranny figured out now I just got to figure out what the wires on the TK4 do so i can wire them together.

It's at the bumper guy's house so it's out of my hands for a while. It's weird to go out in the garage and not have it there. It's been in my garage since March 27th last year. I called the exhaust guy and ordered my exhaust and I called and put insurance on it today. Tomorrow I'll title it. RB

I remembered I have a Ranger Chiltons manual so i looked in the wiring diagrams.Looks like neutral switch is w/bk and bk/w and reverse is bk/pk and p/o. So I should be able to wire the tranny up now. RB

If you want to see all 124 Build pic's now with the pictures having titles and captions I have updated my webshots Aero4x4 Album. Feel free to check them out. I'm also going to put together a list of all the RBV part's in this rig, as there are allot of them.RB

whats a good estimate of the distance from cleveland to your place? i am willing to adventure up there but i would really like to have a rig and some place to play while i am there! b2 is comming along well. i am also in search of cheap or free parts as usual!

Mapquest puts you under 6 hours but I can get to Detroit in 3 so that seems high. As far as wheeling I have a rock course on the property (Go to my webshots page and click on the rock pit album)plus State land trails with the normal MI stuff. I'm sure we could have a good time. RB

Been keeping an eye on your build. Gonna be quite the rig when you're done. Can't wait to see it on the trail !!:icon_thumby:

I worked on the tranny wiring tonight with very little luck. I've got no power for the reverse lights. The fuse in the fuse block has no power. I wired the reverse lights up(at the tranny) guessing at which wires to use. The wire harness for the neutral safety was not plugged in the tranny as I thought it was so I just wired them together. So it will now start with the key but that's the only progress made there.
I got the exhaust finished. I decided to use a muffler as I figure I'll be drawing enough attention with this as it is.
I also installed the headlights, grill, and side markers. Starting to look like a van again.
Dave got the center section of the bumper welded up and we checked to make sure the winch would fit in it. We moved the radiator up and towards the passenger side trying to make room for the lower radiator hose. We then had to grind some of the plastic off the radiator tank to clear the bumper bracket and ground just a hair to much and I've got a water leak. So we called it a night. I'm going to pull the spare one out of my parts rig and then see if I can get this one repaired.
I didn't take my camera so you have to wait till I get her home before i post any more pic's. RB

sounds like you could possibly benefit from a junkyard search to give you ideas for a radiator.an e-fan should give you more room to move the radiator around also.your local radiator shop might be able to put different end tanks on a suitable core if all else fails too.

I pulled the radiator out of the parts donor this morning and it was in bad shape but the tank was ok so I removed the tank and RTV'd it to my radiator. Don't know yet if it will work or if it will hold water. Spent most the day at Dave's house working on it. I put B2 mirrors on it. I used rivet nuts and stainless bolts, to attach them. I reshaped the tranny shifter and installed the shifter boots. I reinstalled the engine cover and put the dash back together. I also enlarged both drivers side wheel wells. I reinstalled the radiator overflow and windshield washer tank. If you think it was tight before you should see it with a power steering box and lines in the way. I had to remove the battery tray just to get it in there. I repaired the broken bolt that holds the battery while i had the tray out. Dave made allot of progress on the bumper too. It's all tacked together so you can see the final shape+ he bent and attached the stinger and the bars that protect the fenders and headlights. This van looks totally different with the bumper. Once everything was the way i liked it we pulled it back off and he will finish welding and grinding it tomorrow and possibly have it painted too. So you guys will have a pic soon. RB
