Hey everyone I am new here, well kinda. I used to read thru the pages of the ranger station not long ago when I owned a 90 bronco II. I was basically given a 95 Mazda B3000 2wd ex-cab with 212k miles and a bed engine. I found one to replace it at a local salvage yard pretty cheap but its from a Tuaras with 120k miles. And yes I have done a search on this and read everything in here about this swap. I know I need to pull the heads and change the gaskets to truck style. The engine is a 95 also so most of it is the same, aside from oil pan etc etc. If anyone has done this before and has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.

You should make a post in the introductions section to introduce yourself.
I have done this many times.
The oil pump pickup tube is welded to the pump. Taurus and Ranger use different pickup tubes. I would suggest a new pump with a Ranger pickup tube. If you or someone you know is a confidant welder you could try swapping tubes.
I recently did the same sort of thing and didn't like the Taurus cam shaft. I now have a Ranger motor in the same truck and it performs much better.
The 3.0 is a bit of an acquired taste. Many people on here don't like them. Those of us that do like them, Love them!
