ive run richmond, motive and yukon and never noticed a difference between any of them.
also the "pinion depth tool" is your digital caliper, which also is used to measure your shim packs.
also can anyone tell me, if i can just pull the center chunk out of the 9 inch or do i have to pull the axleshafts out and pull the axle apart?
you have to take the 4nuts off the retaining plate, then pull the shafts out a little bit, then you can pull the 3rd. Also the way you use the digital caliper to measure is when you slide the caliper open it has a little "pin" that slides down, you PUt that on the face of the pinion and measure to the centerline of the diff. Distance will be displayed on the digital display.
oh, thanks, now theres one less tool i need to buy.
how about bearing pullers? where should i look for those? i saw some on ebay not sure if there good quality though.
also, i was wondering if i could buy a bare open carier for 3.92 and numerically higher and put my old internals from my old carrier in it?
