i am starting my v8 build in my 99 4x4 ex cab 4.0 auto. i have my doaner, a 2000 mountianeer 2 wheel drive. i only have one issue. do i use an adapter kit and use my transfer case. (not sure how strong or reliable the adapter kit is) or do i get an f150 4.2 trans and transfer case. i plan on a few mild mods, some off road and daily drive. any opinions or experiance with the adapter kit would greatly be apreciated.

I have an Advance Adapters adapter in mine. Of course mine is behind a C-6 and mated to a Dana 20. Even with the stroker (347) I haven't ever had any issues with mine.

The adapter is the way i want to go just not sure of the negative side of using it. If any. Thanks bloodbane for your input.I've used the search function for most of my questions and found what i was looking for, but theres not much feed back after the builds. meaning the pro's and con's of some parts being used. almost everything is covered great. thanks.

ok i got one issue, not sure what adapter to get. i did all the messuring and it looks like i need a 7" adapter. i would like to know what other people have used on there trucks with the same set up i have. 99 ext 4x4 auto 4.0. thanks. doaner is a 2000 mount.5.0 auto 2 wheel drive.
