The steering bar has threads on it, do I loosen the two bolts on the clamp then pry off the knuckle so I can spin it to adjust toe?

I took off the bolt that holds the knuckle down but it will not budge.
Any tips here? I apologize for the inane question, but I just don't want
to break something that's going to cost me more money and hassle in the future.

Loosen the two bolts and spin the adjustment sleeve.

The sleeve has both right and left hand thread you want to have a slight toe in meaning the front of the tires are slightly closer together than the rear that will pull the steering wheel to center when you let off of it. It dont take much I just take and line one of the wheels strait with the rear on one side and make the other point slightly in you must make that adjustment with the full weight on the wheels if you do it on gravel or sand they turn pretty easy.

Sorry I was thinking on the adjustment to center the steering wheel for the tie rod end you will need to pop it loose with a air chisel or use a pickle fork be careful not to damage the grease boot. you still want the toe in tho.

No need to pop anything loose from the steering knuckles...as you said just losen the pinch bolts on the adjustment sleeves and turn them.

lock the steering wheel straight then turn the sleeves till the tires are straight with a lil toe

Wow. I'm such an idiot. I of all people should have known this. Thanks guys for the help.

i tie the steering wheel almost straight ahead-
but about 3/8" to the passenger side (for the
crown of the road) then run a string with a
hook on it to the rear wheel, put the string
so it just touches the rear of the tire, and
adjust the sleeve so there is about 1/16"
from the front of the tire on both sides.
to do it this way you have to have the
same wheels front and back.

Now I can't get the clamp to move! I loosened the two bolts, but that sucker will not budge!

use a propane torch and get it good and hot or soak it good with PB blaster and use a pipe wrench it will go just make sure the ball socket is centered on the ball for your final adjustment.

I'll try that tomorrow afternoon, thanks again guys. I'll let you know
how it pans out. :icon_welder:

Also, if you are trying to adjust it with a pipe wrench..it doesn't work so well as the action of the pipe wrench causes the sleeve to tighten down more on the threads. If you can, get a hold of a tie rod sleeve adjusting wrench, makes it so much easier.

you can tap a flat screwdriver into the slot
to spread it open and pop it loose. dont
get carried away.
