in the next day or two i will be getting a 07 fx4 level II (thanks to the brats that smashed out the window and cab in my 90 xlt). the thing that stumps me is it has leather seats, but are not heated, or power (have a heat kit on the way). i am very familiar with explorers (have a 98 sport that i have added LOTS of stuff to it) and want know if i can swap a power seat base into this truck from a explorer. has anyone ever done this with or with out any problems.

dont see why not. with a little fab work, anythings possible. i have apc racing seats in mine because i need an extra tall seat.

I had the seats from a 2000 Exp. (full power) installed in my 2001 extend-cab and they work great. Had a shop do it so I do not know how much trouble it was.

RonV :) :) :)

I put power seats from a 99 explorer in my 95 ranger...bolted right up!

Power seats are one of those things that sound like a great idea, but having isn't nearly as good as wanting....

you find that they are less adjustable (total travel) than the manual seats and like recently said about another friend's seats, adjustable in 21 ways, but ALL OF THEM uncomfortable.

Why don't you seeif you like the seating position before you try to change it, because sure as death and taxes you'll find that perfect combination and some asshole will mess it up on you...

Haha I put power seats in my Impala 4 years ago, and always have to fine-tune the position, then fine-tune it again everytime somebody else drives it or I move the seats forward to clean the carpet lol.

When I had manual seats, I knew exactly how far back it had to be and at what angle the back should be at, took 5 seconds to set it right, now it takes forever haha.
