I have a 98 Ranger 3.0 that Id like to put an alarm on. I know basically nothing about auto alarms/security. My truck has no security other than you need a key to get in and a key to start the motor. Truck has manual windows and manual looks. Recently some scumbag cut two of my tires (my daughters ex-boyfriend???) so that got me thinking about an alarm. I’m not sure what I need or even what I want but I don't think I want something super involved, just something that will alarm if someone messes with my truck. Thanks for all advice/suggestions/help.

a good dog and a loaded shot gun should fit the situation well

Go over to a Best Buy or other stereo/electronics shop, talk to someone in the car audio dept and tell them what you want, drop your truck off, and they'll install it for you. This way they're liable for any damages, and it'll be done faster than you can probably do it yourself....heck, alot of stores will even throw in the install for free.

They can also upgrade you to power locks if you so choose.
