Achieving extreme rear flex?

Just a little off tangent here... But if a person is trying to gain flex to "improve" traction... wouldn't it make more sense to install a locker and let the wheel hang? After all, Doesn't a locker transfer power to the wheel with the most traction??

On a side note... I would L O V E to go wheelin with you BC guys... this swampin thing is for the birds!

I would hope he is already running a locker of some sort atleast in the rear...if not also in the front...This is generally one of the first if not the first thing I do to a truck when I start building one from scratch.

now i had to skip alot of this thread because i didnt feel like reading through arguments so if this has already been said then oops.

if you want flex you want a long spring plain and simple now weather or not you want to do a big arch in it and a long shackle to allow the spring to stretch out or if you want a long sping with not much arch you can still get quite a bit of flex out of it.

my samurai (i know not a ranger but its just talking about springs) are dead flat at ride hight but i still have 4" of uptravel and almost double that in droop. with no axle wrap so its not neccesary to get a big arches spring to get decent flex.

theres also other options like inborded rear leaves like kyle m did and on top of that there are creeper shackle mounts that if you felt like it you could use while inbording the rear springs, you have mentioned a problem with making noise but i dont even think that it would be all that noisey to do buy the pre-made spring hanger for the front of the sping re-use your beltech shackle and buy the creeper joint or the rear of the spring. done no cutting or grinding (other then prepping weld areas) all the noise would be a slight buzz of a welder.

as far as im concerned this is the best option out there you keep the springs you have get more flex and still retain the same ride quality. untill you need the flex then its there.
