So I just started my new job working for Bayer Roadside Service. When I was on my first call last night I was on the expressway when a car three cars in front of me slammed on his breaks causing me and the two cars in front of me to collide. of course the guy in front was nice enough to drive off and no one really had any damage except me. It missed my bumper, shattered my grille and punched a hole through my radiator.

now my question is, in that last picture are those waves supposed to be in the frame as a crumple zone or is it a result of the accident?

Looks exactly like mine. To the best of my knowledge my truck has not been in an accident.

Glad you're okay. :icon_thumby:

yeah It was relatively slow but because my truck is angled forward and I was slamming on the brakes I was pretty sure it missed the bumper. I guess its time to go to the junkyard.

If it tracks straight......... drive on. It's tough to bugger a front end on these suckers.

Don't worry too much, at least the guy that slammed on his brakes was probably messed up, and careened off a cliff shortly after the accident....... and is now being eaten by wolverines.

Where at in Illinois are ya? I graduated from SIC.

Easy fix. A few good junkyard parts and a hammer will fix all that. And yes, those waves in the front frame are suppose to be there. Its that crumple zone.

Yeah, seeing it in the day light makes me feel much better. A couple of months ago someone vandalized our backyard and slashed two of my tires. I had tires off of my roommates jeep on it so when those two got slashed I had to put on my two stock tires and it gives my truck a slant like a hot rod. So I don't know if that saved me becuase it missed the bumper/frame and only crushed the sheet metal. For now I'm looking for a radiator. Tomorrow if I can get a radiator I'm gonna use a come-a-long and a trusty mallet too work her out for now. I just started working so once I get some money rolling in I'll start looking for new fenders, hood and front clip. Gives me an excuse to finaly paint her the color I want, John Deere Blitz Black:D

yeah... those flames were the original owners doing, it also used to have low profile mustang wheels on it when I got it and three different interior colors

Yeah I've been clicking around looking through the threads and thought about that, a junkyard by me has 1/2 off days on Wednesdays so I should be able to get it pretty cheap.

I like that and think it looks really good but then I came across this.

which I found in this thread,

does any one have any leads on that truck, I read the link provided about the explorer conversion build imo I think the explorer front looks fat, but that Lincoln front looks clean. I'd prolly shave the Lincoln emblem. I'd assume it's probably really similar to the explorer conversion. It all depends on what I can dig up at the junkyard.
