acceleration hesitation

1988 2.9 sometimes hesitates on acceleration then kicks in a runs perfect.. complete tune up done.. cleaned throttle body.. looking for suggetions.. thanks ... mike

What's the timing set to? Make sure all vacuum lines are solid too.

Try checking the throttle position switch (TPS) or just install a new one; sounds like there is a dead spot in it. Also, when you cleaned the TB you might have damaged the sensing wire for the TPS, they are very sensitive. I have also read other posts that have had initial issues after cleaning the TB then their truck started running correctly. Just do a search of this forum and you'll find some good info on this.
