Not sure how to explain this bUt here goes. It seems like my ac is always on it also seems to be draining my battery. If i unhook the battery then hook it back up the ac clutch will pop out and stay out. Problem is i dont have a clue of what to look for or what could be wrong. Any help would be great. By the way its a 03 ranger edge 3.0 5 speed. Thanks for any and all help

ok but is it blowing cold air? That would help narrow it down to the compressor itself or some other issue.

Disconnect the wire on the compressor when the engine is off. If the clutch pops out as soon as you disconnect it, then it's engaged when it's not supposed to be. Also while you have it disconnected (just to be sure) check the voltage on the wire harness between the 2 terminals. There shouldn't be any voltage. If there is, you have an electrical problem. I think a good place to start troubleshooting would be the AC relay.

its always blowing cold air . and i will try other stuff now and see what happens. Thanks

Well its not the ac. I tried the disconnect thing and all seems fine. It seems i got problems elsewere i just dont know were to look. Thanks for help thou. Ill try posting in v6 part of forum maybe its a problem in the motor somewere

I doubt it's the motor, sounds like an electrical problem. Think back to when it started and try to remember if you worked on anything...

I think your right. While driving truck today i hit a speed bump and the ac came on. Just had outside air blowing and after hitting bump it turned cold. Plus with power off i unhooked ac wire and it had power this time. Were is the ac relay located.Im thinking that is my problem. Again thanks alot

fixxed

Thanks for pointing me in right direction. It was the ac clutch silenoid not the relay as first thought. I cant thank you guys enough. If it wasnt for your help id be screwed
