My AC in my 2010 Ranger wasn't blowing so hard as it used to when it was new. I took it to the dealer and they showed me this screen that is located behind the glove box, behind the Sirius XM box, behind the evaporator box. The dealer told me that screen is to prevent thinks like leaves and stuff from being sucked up in to the AC system when using MAX AC. Anyway, the cause of my AC not blowing so hard was because this screen was about 80% blocked with what looked like dirt. You can see in the pictures a little bit of what I am talking about. Does anyone know what might have caused this so that I can avoid this in the future?

If the screen is located in such a way that it filters recirculated air, you're pulling debris from inside the cab. Basic cleaning of the interior will help, especially your floor mats. If the dealer is warning you about leaves and such, its more for the fresh air inlet which is not used in MAX A/C mode and your dealer is shooting you a line. Can't view the pics from where I'm posting to confirm your info though. I've seen similar posts for the 2010 regarding air flow blockage. Hope this isn't likely to be a common problem...

I have the same issue. How do you get to that screen to clean it?
