Ac burning smell

Whenever I turn my ac down to speeds 1 2 or 3 i smell burning wood or paper for the first 5 minutes. It doesn't do it on high so I'm thinking its the resistor but I dont know where thats located. What do you guys think?

It definitely is the resistor, they get leaves and crap behind them. Its under the hood, on the firewall, poking into the heater box. there's a plug with 4-5 wires plugged into it, 2 screws hold it in place.

Ok I've seen that then. Do i need to just clean it out or does it need replacing?

Should be fine to reuse as long as nothing's melted/charred.
