ABS question

My '92 2wd has the ABS sensor on the differential housing. I assume then that it has ABS. Right? The reason I ask is because although it has the sensor, I don't see any of the other usual ABS parts like the ABS control unit with the hydraulic pump, etc. Also the ABS light on the dash does not light when you start the truck. That could be a bad bulb....I gotta' check. Did Ford ever put the ABS sensor in a vehicle but not actually use it? Thanks.

it probably has, or had, rear abs. The control valve is mounted on the frame below the drivers seat. the system was rubbish even when it was working as designed and the valves had a tendancy to develop leaks. If the valve has been removed or bypassed the bulb might have been removed to prevent it from being on all the time.
