With a RABS system that had the ECU fail, my advice for repair is to remove the bulb and get on with life.

That doesn't make sense. I'm not sure if you've ever driven without RABS working but it's a severe pain in the ass. Having your rear brakes constantly lock up is absolutely ridiculous. Why not buy the $50-100 part and ensure yours and everyones safety.
