As the title says i need a little advice. Can i reuse the existing 3.0 motor mount and the 5.0 plates? Where can i find shop manuals to help with the wiring? Should i trash the 01 ecm and find a 98 ecm? Also the 8.8 rear axel, i know i need to flip the perches but what about the driveshaft and shocks? Please help. And thanks

You have the Ranger listed as a 4x2 off-road, does that mean it has the torsion bar suspension? If so, use the stock Explorer mounts and plates. If not. most use the 4.0 mounts. Only thing by going to the '98' ECU is not having to deal with PAT's. Doing that also means a change in fuel system, different pump and adding the return line. The cam sensor might have to be changed or wiring changed. Wiring manual found on E-Bay for both. Swapping in the 8.8 is well covered up in the tech library.
