so the time has come in my relationship to ask my girlfriend of 2 and half years to ask if she will be with me forever. this girl is awsome. she like my stupid hobbeys of 4 wheeling and spending money on stupid things for the truck... hell she even helped me paint one truck.

also she has been hinting around.

any who i want to make the popping of the question real nice and grand. and i was wondering of what some of the things you guys have asked and how?

When I did it, I put the ring box in with a set of piston rings that we were using to re-build an engine for my mom's mustang. Asked her to go get my the rings, and she found it when she opened the box drawer. She is always helping me out with the car stuff too, and she loved that.

Make damn sure she is the one you want FOREVER, and not because she is dropping hints.
But if you are sure, then good luck friend. I'm old fashioned and like the one knee technique, somewhere special...perhaps the spot of your first date, regardless of how tacky.

I did it pretty old fashioned...not on one knee 'cause we were both sitting. Rode the 4 wheeler up into the mountains from her parents cabin in Creede, CO. Found a little lake up around 10,000 feet and had a picnic lunch, popped the ? there on Christmas Eve, 2005.

i jus popped the question on dec 1 on the knee about 4 hours after she had a second child. after 8 and a half yrs and 2 kids it was about time

I sent my wife on a scavenger hunt (one clue leads to the next). The ring was in plain sight for 3 weeks before that. The kids knew what was going on. She was so excited by the 5th clue, I had to lead her to the tree where the ring was. She still didn't see it, I had to point it out. BTW, it was hanging on the Christmas tree, attached to a gold strand below an 8 inch gold bow.

THEN I got on one knee.

Live with her for a few more years then decide, thing change, don’t rush in, make kids and then find out it really wasn’t right.

I know it sound negative but watch what head is doing the thinking.

BUT if you really want this go for it, take her to a nice restaurant, with a lot of people around so you are totally embarrassed and get down on one knee and ask her her.

More and more I think about it, the least I find it that appealing. Some people are just meant to marry and some aren't. I enjoy being able to disappear for a while. I like to be irresponsible at some time, and if I want to turn my house into a pirate ship I can without any one to say otherwise. lol

Advice is good, but the best advice I can give you is say whatever stupid thing comes out of your mouth at the time. If she has stuck with you through everything so far and is this awesome she loves you for who you are and will apreciate the act of asking waaaay more than what you actually say.

I was in Iraq when I asked my wife to marry me. I did over the internet. Don't do it that way. I still get a hard time about that. But I can say I have never regretted marrying my wife. She is amazing and I don't think I would be as good of a person as I am now without wanting to be a better person for her.

well, if she is into the truck, take her out mudding. drive out with some friends(witnesses) and get
"stuck" in some deep stuff. both of you climb out onto the hood and pop it out right there on one knee. 1. she wouldn't be expecting to be proposed to at that particiular moment in time cuz she will be thinking about how to get "unstuck". 2. that distraction will make it a complete suprise when she turns around to find you on a kkee witha rock sparkling in her direction

That is a idea, but i took m y wife out the back of my folks property and took a knee. nice and old-fashioned. good luck and congrats i advance..BTW GET SOME PICS!
