about to do a explorer 8.8 swap.....

just cut off the old spring perches and weld them on top. much cheaper and just as good

also shit i was wrong above idk what i was thinking. but what they said was right but yeah anyway cut off the old perches and shock mounts off your original axle.

i was trying to get the 8.8 completely done before i took out the 7.5. its my daily and i use it for work so if i get the 8.8 ready it will take like 15 mins to just swap them

X2 on that. I had the skyjacker lines, every one of them came apart where the braided hose goes into the fittings. I now run 26" long rubber chevy lines on the front.

what did you use for the rear on the 8.8? i am really just trying to collect ideas and see what everyone else did. i know how to do all this stuff i am just seeing if anyone has better ideas.

edit: wow i cant believe i just asked that even tho i think you said it like twice already nvm. its late and i am tired hahahaha

Yep, same here. The extended ones are way too short. BTW, do you have a part number for your Chevy lines? I'm gonna need to purchase new front ones for my SAS in a week or two.

yeah i def like that style better than the factory ones. i just wasnt sure if you had specs on them so i could just make my own. i got a plasma cutter and some extra steel layin around somewhere i could fab it up np.

Ballistic had them on sale for like $1.50 each, so I have less than $10 shipped into all four...but they are easy enough to make.

i thought it was a local place for you but nevermind i found it. this site is awesome. i have been looking for a site like this alllllll day. i cant find stuff like this anywhere around central oh. do these come in pairs or they 2.50 a piece? i figured i would get the 1/4" thick ones bc i am a little rough on the truck.

edit: again tired and not reading site.... they come in pairs

ok now for parking brake cables..... they look really close to the same length as the ranger ones. i remember seeing someone posted something on this about a year or 2 ago but idk where it is now

you will also need a flange for your drive shaft the 8.8 bolt pattern is bigger so you need a flange i have one pm if you want it we can work something out

If your driveshaft flange ends up being the small bolt pattern and you have the large pinion flange on your 8.8 you can make it work just fine...this is also covered in my writeup. I removed all of my e-brake stuff so I can't tell you how to do that...do a search on it...I believe it has been covered before.

i couldnt find anything on the e brake cables. i will figure something out and probably do a thread on it.
