Ok this might be a dumb ??? but i put a Snorkel on my truck . I made it water tight my ??? is. Is there anything else i have to waterproof before i use it or can i just run it ?????
Are you asking if you need to water-proof the rest of the truck? Yes, you do. You need to extend the axle breather hoses into the cab, and take the important connectors and load them up with dielectric grease. You also should grease every zerk fitting on your truck before and after the run.
How deep are planning on going? River crossing? Not unless you water proof everything. If you are just doing it for looks and you are not going into really deep water you don't have to do a lot of sealing of course. My Ranger goes 3-4 feet at times when the heavy rains are hear and the water in the streets get high. I don't have a snorkel and I never had any issues. I don't got into real deep water when trail riding. Snorkels are a good idea if you are going deep. My 06 Wrangler goes into 5 ft of water with ease and I don't have a snorkel..but then again I don't stay in very long or do it a bunch of times either...lol
Just make sure you seal everything that water can get into and make sure your electrics are sealed as well. You can get a clear spray water sealant and spray that on areas that have a lot of exposed electrics. I know people who have used the Proust and they stand by it. You can get it a hardware stores or truck shops.
