so ive read that the best way to do abdominal exercises is to switch it up.

we have this path thats 1.5miles each way i run there and back making it a 3 mile run. along the way there are 5 exercise machines, pull ups, push ups, crunchies, leg lifts, and some thing where you lift your entire weight. there are more but i dont use them.

if i run this 1.5miles stopping every 1/4 miles which is how far apart the machines are located to use the equipment. do you think this will change the routine enough to "confuse" my abs?

i mean its not 500 crunchies every day, its alot of different stuff.

i could only do crunchies for a week then leg lifts for the next week if need be. but just looking for advice.

Sounds like a good general conditioning routine...I never liked those circuit training routines myself, but found them to be a nice variation sometimes...

There are dozens of good abdominal exercises...but balance is the main thing...you want to include back exercises also...and stretching...plenty of stretching before and after workouts...helps to reduce lactic acid and enhances muscle recovery...

I've trained with some very intense people in the past and found their routines excessive (not because I'm lazy)...thousands of situps, crunches, squat kicks (those are good), pushups, running, and weight reps...sort of the punishment Bruce Lee and others put themselves through...

But my advice would be not to wait a week between rotations...every second or third day would probably give better results...every other day if you're in good condition...rest on the third day...over training is not a good thing...balance is important...

I do upside down crunches three times a week. Best thing for the tummy. Try it.

upside down crunches......wouldn't that be like a catepillar crawling across the floor.....

ohhhhh...i get it....you mean...hangining out the 2nd floor window by your ankles & doing sit-ups
