- If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
Last Friday my transmission went out, needed a complete rebuild. Got it rebuilt Saturday, made it to Spokane. before the reverse gear went out. Dropped it off Monday at the Aamco in Auburn WA to be rebuilt under warranty. I was told tuesday afternoon it would be ready, called tuesday morning and guess what............ had not even been pulled in to be looked at. Wednesday the story was it will be ready tomorrow (thursday). Guess what.......... not ready yet. I was told Friday afternoon for sure. guess what, 8pm on Friday and they don't have the transmission back yet. I have to fly home tonight so I can be back to work monday morning, My wife will have to drive it home with 3 kids in it by herself providing it is ready monday because grad school starts the following monday.
I had to pay $2600 to get it rebuilt the first time, you would think because I am pissed off because my first $2600 rebuild didn't make it 900 miles that i would be moved to the front of the line just to keep me from running my mouth and making aamco pay to have it rebuilt somewhere else. I am not happy, I am never going to use aamco ever again and if my car is not ready monday my lawyer will be calling them to arrange for them to buy my wife's train tickets home and to pay to have my car shipped home and sent to ford for a new transmission (what I should have done in the first place).
This vacation has cost me $2600 for a transmission. $200 for 2 extra nights in a hotel. $150 for a rental car for 2 days. and $400 for a plane ticket home. this does not count what we had already planned to spend.
I am never going on vacation again.
