Have reviewed the posts and the Chilton Manual concerning Linkage Adjustment and Still Confused. Answers to the following questions will help.

1. Applying the 3lb weight to shifting lever I understand is to hold the shifting lever in position. If I place the lever in OD and disconnect the cable at the transmission, is the lever supposed to stay in the OD position.

2. If yes, and the lever does not stay in the OD position with cable disconnected, what is the problem.

3. I tried to make the adjustment however, the cable to its max and would not attach in the OD position.

4. I did finally get it attached but not in the OD position. Indicator is still off center on the panel.

Thanks
