Bolt A4LD crossmember direct to frame?

:icon_welder:I have an 87 Bronco II with an A4LD trans. The outer bushings (where it bolts to frame)are worn out.I can't find any good crossmembers in the junkyard or even new ones.My question is why couldn't I cut the bushings off and alter the crossmember so I can bolt it directly to the frame? The trans already has a rubber mount on it where it bolts to the crossmember, why would it need ones on the frame too?Anybody have an answer?
